EC 313 Computational Economics (Spring: 3)

Prerequisites: EC 201-202

This course is an approved elective for the Minor in Scientific Computation.

This course provides an introduction and selective overview of the field of computational economics. Computational toolsand techniques are increasingly being used to address complex issues in economic analysis. Students will become familiarwith use of the Internet for information retrieval and dissemination, and will use appropriate modeling and visualizationtools to address topics in applied micro- and macroeconomics and produce and "publish" their findings from acomputational research project. No previous computing experience is required.
